Biographical Info
Hola. Soy Christina, mis pronombres son lo siguiente, ella, she, hers. My first professional training on the health of trans people was in 2016 through the Foster & Kinship Care Education program at Santa Rosa Junior College. In 2017, I worked with my first transgender psychotherapy client. At that time, I obtained consultation from a clinician in Oakland, California to consult specifically for the individual I was working with and to begin learning generally about trans mental health. Since 2017, I have held a very small practice of trans people who are monolingual Spanish speakers. In 2023, I started to get an influx of trans clients, as did the clinicians for whom I provide clinical supervision. At that time, I sought consultation from a peer in Santa Rosa, California. He advised me to join a peer facilitated consultation group in Sonoma County; clinicians who have more experience with trans mental health. I have experience working with adults, primarily Spanish speaking immigrants who are at differing stages of transitioning, medical and social, including writing letters of support for a few minors. With Latine immigrants, acculturative stress comes up, in addition to transphobia, thus have experience here. I am culturally attuned, humanistic and psychodynamic; trained in EMDR. I am not accepting insurance at this time, private pay only; yes, sliding scale.
