Biographical Info
Hi, I’m Phoenix. My favorite shape is a star tetrahedron, representative of perfect equilibrium between inseparable, complementary parts ruling the laws of both matter and spirit. I’ve dedicated this life to loving and living in gratitude for all my blessings, as well as offering tailored, practical, holistic, and integrative therapy. I specialize in being with people struggling with the effects of unresolved wounds, including those arising from navigating multiple intersections of oppression, and especially with those labelled “gifted” and “high-performer” who often teeter on the edge of burnout and collapse. I’m US-born, Black, married, masculine, assigned female, intermittently able-bodied person informed by Ancestral guidance, mystical practices, liberatory frameworks, and the belief that consciousness flows through all beings. I bring perspectives on less frequently considered forms of judgment and discrimination, as well as hopes for a safer world for all. I have significant personal experience and 10 years experience working with gender expansive and transgender people, ongoing professional training, writing letters of recommendation for surgery, and I can help guide a person through social and medical transition. I can provide you a superbill for possible insurance reimbursement, and I regularly work with foundations and non-profits who provide subsidy for therapeutic services. I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a specialization in Law, Criminology, and Deviance, and I earned a graduate degree as a Somatic Counseling Psychology clinician at John F. Kennedy University, which honored me as Outstanding Student of the Year, 2015. With a background in prevention research, I balance evidence-based approaches with spiritual concepts to bring awareness to wounds and the possibility of healing. My superpowers are kindness and mystique.
