Biographical Info
Born and raised in Sweden and having lived many years as a military spouse, my passion lays in working with families. I work mainly with children and teenagers (ages 5 and up), young adults and parents. In my work, I have worked with many who in their tweens or teens discover and uncover that they are non-binary and/or trans. I have worked with them and their families on finding resources, supporting them through gender affirming care and becoming more comfortable in their bodies and with themselves. As a social worker, I have a holistic approach when working with anyone, viewing the client as an expert in their own life and experiences. I use a multitude of modalities, depending on the best fit and how to best support each client. With children I use play based therapy, such as sand tray, doll house, arts and crafts and activities to explore emotions and practice social interactions. With teens and adults the focus is more on relationship building and trust, in order to discover the deeper issues to then address, discover and explore how to build healing and support.
