Biographical Info
Angela Sanville (she/her) is an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist who is employed by The Mindful Center of Psychotherapy, and is supervised by Lori Crowley, LMFT #121471, LPCC #10892. Angela understands that starting therapy can feel like a big leap, especially when life already feels overwhelming or uncertain. She offers a supportive space for clients to pause, reflect, and make sense of emotions, relationships, or changes they may be navigating.
Angela works with teens, adults, couples, and families, with a special focus on neurodivergent and neurodivergent-adjacent individuals. She also has training and knowledge in supporting LGBTQIA+ clients and strives to create a therapeutic environment that is affirming, inclusive, and grounded in respect for each person’s identity and lived experience. Her approach is collaborative and responsive - rooted in curiosity, compassion, and a belief that therapy should meet each client where they are.
Before becoming a therapist, Angela spent more than 15 years in the nonprofit sector supporting teens and adults (18+) with intellectual and developmental differences. This work shaped her relational, grounded style and taught her to honor the unique ways people experience the world. She draws from Internal Family Systems, Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, somatic and nervous system attunement, and mindfulness practices.
Angela also brings lived experience to her work. She is a parent, a partner, a first-gen college graduate, and a person who lives with neurodiversity herself. These aspects of her identity help her connect with people who may feel out of step with the dominant culture, overwhelmed by external expectations, and/or who are in the process of discovering how to live in alignment with their authentic selves.
Angela holds a BA in Human Development from Sonoma State University and an MA in Counseling from the University of San Francisco. She offers therapy in-person in Petaluma, and virtually across California. While Angela does not accept insurance directly, she can provide a superbill for clients who may be able to get reimbursement from their insurance provider. Clients who seek a therapist who combines clinical training, lived experience, and deep respect for individual differences will likely find an attuned and compassionate partner in Angela.
